The best season to do the Salkantay

The wet season between November-April will guarantee you rain, you may be in luck with showers between November and December. However, January to March you are going to encounter some fairly big downpours. This is the warmer season so if you are not put off by rain you get the benefits of warmer days and nights. The dry season between May and October graces you with wonderful sunshine in during the day and clearer skies, which means you be able to see the views without cloud and fog. At night the temperature can drop close to freezing or below. Please note that February The Inca trail and other protected sites gets closed for the entire month for essential maintenance.
