Arrival To Cusco- Cusco City Tour
Upon landing in Cusco, there will be a Southern Peruvian Explorers staff member at the airport to greet you. After checking in to your chosen hotel and enjoying a cup of coca tea, we will take to the cobblestone streets of the imperial city. You will see and learn about modern, colonial and Incan architecture, as well as a bit about the history and culture of Cusco. Together, we will enjoy a hearty, traditional Peruvian lunch. →DAY 02
The Sacred Valley Of The Incas
We will enjoy a jam-packed day exploring the best of the Sacred Valley. We will leave early from Cusco and drive 40 minutes to the educational center of Awana Cancha where you will have the opportunity to pet llamas and alpacas, and learn more about the wild vicuña. We will continue another 20 minutes to the colonial town of Pisac. As we descend to Pisac, you will get to admire the impressive Inca terraces, constructed in the shape of a condor.

→DAY 03
Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu
We will enjoy a warm breakfast before heading to the Ollantaytambo train station for an early departure to Aguas Calientes, the town that sits below Machu Picchu. The scenic 2-hour train ride runs alongside the famous Inca Trail, and you will notice that the climate will change dramatically from high Andean sierra to lush cloud forest. Once we arrive in Aguas Calientes, we will walk to the nearby bus station that will drive us 20 minutes up the side of a mountain

Machu Picchu – Return To Cusco
Today, we will visit Machu Picchu once more to explore more hidden places, such as the Intipunku (Gate of the Sun) and/or Huayna Picchu (Young Mountain) to visit the Temple of the Moon. A third option for those in good physical condition is to hike to the epic, Phutuq K’usi mountain, which offers unforgettable views of the ruins from afar. After a long morning of exploring, we will return to Aguas Calientes where we will enjoy a delicious lunch before

Good-Bye Cuscoo
Goodbye Cusco! We will shuttle you from your Cusco accommodation to the Alejandro Velasco Astete airport for your domestic flight back to Lima.
