On this shortened trek, you will get to enjoy the best parts of the Inca Trail, condensed in a one day hike. Covering the distance of 16km/ 10mi, this trek is for those who have less time or want a less arduous trek. This trek is perfect for families and hikers of all ages.

Overview

Hiking the inca trail to Machu Picchu is a life changing experience , boasting diverse cloud forests, pristine alpine tundras, ancient Incan ruins, and a final destination of the legendary, Machu Picchu.

This 4 day adevtnure consists of hiking, progressively getting more challenging. The heavy stoned pathways and iconic Incan steps make up this historic route.This 4 days adventure tour is for any active traveler who has a thirst for adventure and a reasonable degree of fitness. 

Travel Distance

The world-famous 4-day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu covers 31.2 miles (50 kilometers) from start to finishThe majority of the altitude points on the Inca Trail are lower than the altitude of Cusco (3,399m/ 11,152ft,) making Cusco the perfect place to acclimatize for several days before your trek to the heights of the mountainous passes.

Difficulty

The difficulty of the Classic Inca Trail is ranked based on the elevation gain over distance starts with its distance, from 300 msl, which covers 26 miles over four days and three nights, 2,000 meters to haul yourself up and level yourself down, and over 3,000 steps to deal with in total ends in Machu Picchu 2400 msl

Highlights

The route for the classic Inca unless undertaking the 2 day will always start at the Ollantaytambo at 82km above sea level. This is where the trail begins, after being dropped off by private vans will you show your permits and documentation in order to continue the ancient path.

Day 01: Cusco- Ollanta - KM 107 - MACHU PICCHU

We will arrive early in the morning to pick you up at your hotel in a private van that we begin our journey to Ollantaytambo. In Ollantaytambo we will take a scenic train ride to our stop, the Inca Trail checkpoint Km 104, where we will meet our porters and begin our 6-hour trek. Our trek begins along the original Inca trail to WinayWayna archaeological site. We will tour the ruins, before relaxing to eat a box lunch. After, we will continue our journey to Machu Picchu via the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) at the optimal time of day to get breath-taking photos. After passing through the sun gate, we will ride the bus down to Puente Ruinas. Here we will camp, enjoying the warm weather and jungle vegetation that surround us.

Day 02: Machu Picchu - Cusco

We wake up around 4:30am to eat breakfast and walk to the bus station to return up to Machupicchu for an extensive 2 ½ hour tour about Andean history and culture. Afterwards free time will be given to wander around the citadel or climb Huayna Picchu, the highest peaked mountain of Machu Picchu with even more Inca structures at the peak (we can help you book the mandatory tickets for this unforgettable hike in advance). Together, we will return to the Aguas Calientes by bus, where you can have your choice of restaurants for lunch. After lunch, we will take the afternoon train to Ollantaytambo and then the van back to Cusco.

Tour Guides

All of our guides have studied both English and Tourism. They are native to the region and have a true passion for teaching others about their culture and heritage. All our guides are experienced with the Inca Trail and other high altitude treks. They will support you and ensure you are safe and happy throughout your trip.

TICKETS -PERMITS

We are one of the few tour operators authorized to both book your permits and operate on the Inca Trail. Permits are registered in your name with a specific date and cannot be modified after confirmation. Your tickets will be purchased by us and looked after by your guide until the time they are needed. These include:

Meals

Our highly trained chefs cook delectable, nutrient-rich meals that honor your food restrictions while surprising you with International and Peruvian flavors. Prepare for a superb culinary experience to accompany this unforgettable expedition. Food is normally served family-style, three times a day

Porters

Included with your trek is a team of porters who along with our horses carry all equipment and materials necessary for the trek. They usually walk ahead and set up your camp so everything such as your tent, the kitchen and food is ready for your arrival. Your duffel bag is also carried with the porters.

Duffel Bag

During your briefing, you will receive a personal duffel bag to pack all of your belongings in and will be carried by our porters, and thus should not exceed more than 6kgs /15.4 lbs, including your sleeping bag,  all personal items needed should be packed in a personal day pack.

EquipmentS

We consistently maintain and renew 4-season tents to ensure peak performance in the field. To ensure maximum comfort, we provide you with a four-person tent to sleep you and only one other hiker.  Our first class tents designed for two persons for personal use. comfortably

WATER

We will always make sure you have clean drinking water at all mealtimes, and enough for you to refill your bottle when needed. We use fresh spring water running down from the mountains. We require that you bring a water bottle/s or Camelbak. To care for our spectacular environment, we humbly request that you use a reusable non-single-use plastic bottle.

Transportation

Your transportation from and to this trek is included. You will be picked up directly from your hotel in Cusco and taken to start of your trek in Ollantaytambo.  After your return riverside journey on the train, you will reach the train station where you will be picked up by van to take you back to your hotel in Cusco.

fisrt aid

Every guide Outdoor first aid trained and carries a first-aid kit and oxygen for basic medical problems (traveler’s diarrhea, cuts, scrapes, etc.). In case of emergencies, every guide is equipped with a satellite phone which will allow for a quick exit off the trail to get you directly to a clinic for treatment.

SLEEPING BAG

You will receive either our North Face or Therm-a-rest’s down alpine mummy bag which has an impressive temperature limit of -10C. Boasting quilted blanket interior, foot warmer pocket and cinchable fitted design. Best of all, these sleeping bag are certified for responsible, sustainable down manufacturing. We carry extra blankets, pillows and sleeping bags for your comfort

BRIEFING

The night before your Machu Picchu hike, we will visit to your hotel (lobby) also flexible in our office for your briefing. During the briefing, you will meet your fellow travelers for the next couple of days, your guides who explain the itinerary in detail and will give you duffel bags where you should pack your stuff and which will be carried by porters later.

EXTRAS

We believe it´s the attention to small details that separates us from our competitors. Every hiker receives a small pillow to sleep with, a foam mattress for insulation, a day pack cover to protect their things while hiking, and a rain poncho.
