Day 01: Cusco- Ollanta - Patallacta

We will pick you up very early  from your Hotel In Cusco and drive 2.5 hours to the famous starting point of the Inca Trail Here you will meet your wonderful Team porters and chefs that will ac.company you on this four-day journey. Before proceeding, we will be required to show our identification and permits to the Park Ranger, but don’t worry, your guide will be responsible for this! We will pass the Vilcanota river and start our trek on Inca Flats, a series of gentle small ups and downs against the background of the majestic Veronica Mountain approximately 5.5 hours we will arrive at the archeological site of Patallacta, where we will eat lunch, and set up camp. You will have the afternoon to explore the nearby ruins of Q’ente and Llactapata, and the surrounding river valley. We’ll eat an early dinner in preparation for a big following day.

Day 02: Patallacta - Llulluchapampa

From Patallacta, we will leave the Urubamba Valley and head up the Cusichaca River to Tarayoc and continue uphill to the scenic community of Wayllabamba for lunch. After lunch, we will make a steady 2-hour ascent to the Llulluchapampa campsite at 3800m/ 12,470ft. Along the way, we will take in outstanding views of the Huayanay peaks to the east, and the rugged Vilcabamba mountain range to the west. We’ll also visit one of the most exclusive sites on the Inca Trail– the Inca fort of Paucarcancha, with pristine ruins and a sacred temple. We’ll arrive at our campsite in Llulluchapampa by nightfall for dinner and rest.

Day 03: Llulluchapampa -Phuyupatamarca

Today will be our most challenging day as we will be climbing two high passes, to begin with the highest point of the Inca Trail, the Abra de Huarmihuañusca, or “Dead Woman Pass,” at 4200m/ 13,779ft. We will face a steep ascent for two hours until we arrive at the top, above the clouds. We’ll do a mini victory dance before descending to the valley of Pacaymayu. Once on the valley floor, we’ll make a second ascent for a smaller pass, traveling through the Runquraqay archaeological site along the way. After the second pass, we’ll explore another site, Sayaqmarka, before heading down to the magnificent, “Cloud Level Town” of Phuyupatamarca. Here we will make camp on the Inca terraces, eat a warm dinner, and sleep under the bright stars.

Day 04: Phuyupatamarca - Machu Picchu - Return to cusco

Day four will be the highlight of our trek. We will wake up at 4:00 am to descend to the Inti Punku, or The Sun Gate, where we will catch some of the first rays of dawn, gleaming over the sacred citadel of Machu Picchu, at 2400m/7872ft. From here, we will descend 40 minutes to enter from the highest entrance point, “The House of Guardians.” Upon arrival and registration, you will receive a 2-hour guided tour of all of the most significant sites while learning about Incan history and culture. Afterward, you will have some free time to explore a part of Machu Picchu on your own before returning to Aguas Calientes as a group by bus. In Aguas Calientes, you will have a large selection of restaurants to choose from for lunch. We’ll then board an afternoon train to return to Cusco. Our drivers will meet us at the train station with Mercedes Benz Sprinter vans to chauffeur you back to your Cusco accommodation.

Tour Guides

All of our guides have studied both English and Tourism. They are native to the region and have a true passion for teaching others about their culture and heritage. All our guides are experienced with the Inca Trail and other high altitude treks. They will support you and ensure you are safe and happy throughout your trip.

TICKETS -PERMITS

We are one of the few tour operators authorized to both book your permits and operate on the Inca Trail. Permits are registered in your name with a specific date and cannot be modified after confirmation. Your tickets will be purchased by us and looked after by your guide until the time they are needed. These include:

Meals

Our highly trained chefs cook delectable, nutrient-rich meals that honor your food restrictions while surprising you with International and Peruvian flavors. Prepare for a superb culinary experience to accompany this unforgettable expedition. Food is normally served family-style, three times a day

Porters

Included with your trek is a team of porters who along with our horses carry all equipment and materials necessary for the trek. They usually walk ahead and set up your camp so everything such as your tent, the kitchen and food is ready for your arrival. Your duffel bag is also carried with the porters.

Duffel Bag

During your briefing, you will receive a personal duffel bag to pack all of your belongings in and will be carried by our porters, and thus should not exceed more than 6kgs /15.4 lbs, including your sleeping bag,  all personal items needed should be packed in a personal day pack.

EquipmentS

We consistently maintain and renew 4-season tents to ensure peak performance in the field. To ensure maximum comfort, we provide you with a four-person tent to sleep you and only one other hiker.  Our first class tents designed for two persons for personal use. comfortably

WATER

We will always make sure you have clean drinking water at all mealtimes, and enough for you to refill your bottle when needed. We use fresh spring water running down from the mountains. We require that you bring a water bottle/s or Camelbak. To care for our spectacular environment, we humbly request that you use a reusable non-single-use plastic bottle.

Transportation

Your transportation from and to this trek is included. You will be picked up directly from your hotel in Cusco and taken to start of your trek in Ollantaytambo.  After your return riverside journey on the train, you will reach the train station where you will be picked up by van to take you back to your hotel in Cusco.

fisrt aid

Every guide Outdoor first aid trained and carries a first-aid kit and oxygen for basic medical problems (traveler’s diarrhea, cuts, scrapes, etc.). In case of emergencies, every guide is equipped with a satellite phone which will allow for a quick exit off the trail to get you directly to a clinic for treatment.

SLEEPING BAG

You will receive either our North Face or Therm-a-rest’s down alpine mummy bag which has an impressive temperature limit of -10C. Boasting quilted blanket interior, foot warmer pocket and cinchable fitted design. Best of all, these sleeping bag are certified for responsible, sustainable down manufacturing. We carry extra blankets, pillows and sleeping bags for your comfort

BRIEFING

The night before your Machu Picchu hike, we will visit to your hotel (lobby) also flexible in our office for your briefing. During the briefing, you will meet your fellow travelers for the next couple of days, your guides who explain the itinerary in detail and will give you duffel bags where you should pack your stuff and which will be carried by porters later.

EXTRAS

We believe it´s the attention to small details that separates us from our competitors. Every hiker receives a small pillow to sleep with, a foam mattress for insulation, a day pack cover to protect their things while hiking, and a rain poncho.
